Whakaora speaks to the practice of healing in te aō Māori (Māori worldview).

The practice of Yoga Nidra becomes a vehicle to whakaora your wairua (spirit/soul) in this 1½ hour workshop.

Lisa will guide you through the stages of Yoga Nidra and hold you safely within a yogic meditation experience that will support both healing and deep relaxation of your mind, body and wairua.

This is an opportunity for you to experience the deep-seated holistic benefits of this beautiful practice.

This workshop is for any level of practitioner; for anyone who would like to enjoy a restorative and/or healing practice that will nourish your hauora (wellbeing).

About the facilitator

Lisa Heke-Baker (Te Rarawa me Ngāti Maniapoto) is delighted to offer this workshop to her community in Te Whanganui-ā-Tara. Lisa completed her 200hr YTT certification with AWHI in 2021. Since then, she has gained certification in YIN, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra facilitation. Lisa’s teaching weaves together yogic philosophy and mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge); honouring the alignment between indigenous practices. Lisa is a life-long learner/teacher who draws on personal experience of trauma and healing as well as taonga tuku iho (treasures passed down from ancestors) to guide her practice in supporting whakaora for others.
