Pregnancy Yoga

Our pre- and post-natal pregnancy classes aim to support you, your supporting partners and bub(s) through this incredibly beautiful but often challenging time of life! You and your bubs will be lovingly and safely guided without feeling patronised, overly-coddled or bored by our resident pregnancy yoga expert Marcelly Ribeiro, who brings a wealth of experience and training in pregnancy yoga, birth, and physical education as a trainer, yoga teacher, mother and doula.

You can book in advance or just drop in on the day - there will always be a space for you. And if you have the time, come early or stay after for a cuppa herbal tea in our cozy reception!

Prenatal Yoga
Fridays, 12:00-1:00pm

We welcome all hāpu clients to our prenatal classes, which are appropriate for all stages of pregnancy and any level of yoga experience. Our Prenatal Yoga Classes are centred on birth physiology, mind-body connection, functional movements, breathing and relaxation techniques, pelvic floor health, as well as birth and pushing positions.

A recent meta-analysis published in the journal BMC Pregnancy & Childbirth found that practicing yoga throughout pregnancy had positive effects on anxiety, depression, perceived stress, mode of birth, pain tolerance and duration of labour (Corrigan et al, 2022). In our sessions you’ll learn to embrace childbirth as a physiological process, challenge your fears and preconceptions, build trust in yourself and your ability to give birth.

Appropriate for all stages of pregnancy. Previous yoga experience is not required. Drop-ins welcome!
