Fully Funded Scholarships
We believe yoga teacher training should be accessible to everyone. Our scholarship programme offers 100% tuition funding for those from communities underrepresented in yoga spaces.
Opening the door
Yoga teacher training changes lives. We know this — we’ve seen it in every cohort. But we also know that the cost of training can be a barrier. It can mean that the people who would most benefit from it — and who would go on to serve their communities with it — are the ones least able to access it.
Our Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship programme was created to change that. We offer fully funded places across our training programmes for those who would otherwise be unable to access them. The scholarship covers everything: tuition, all required textbooks, and unlimited AWHI membership during the training period.
What the scholarship covers
- Full tuition (100%)
- All required textbooks and course materials
- Unlimited AWHI membership during training
- Lifetime discounts on AWHI memberships post-training
Does not cover travel, accommodation, or living expenses.
Eligibility criteria
The scholarship is open to NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents who identify as belonging to communities underrepresented in yoga spaces, including but not limited to:
- Maori and Pasifika peoples
- BIPOC individuals
- LGBTQ+ community members
- People experiencing financial hardship
- Other underrepresented groups
We assess applications holistically — not just on financial need, but on a genuine connection to the kaupapa of the training and the potential to use it in service of community.

Successful applicants will be notified at least 8 weeks before the training start date.
