Hands On Assists

The art and ethics of delivering effective hands-on assists — a weekend intensive for yoga teachers.

A practical weekend intensive for yoga teachers to develop skills and learn the art of delivering effective assists in the classroom. These are not "adjustments", nor "corrections" — but assists designed to enhance your students' practice.

What you'll cover

  • Consent protocols and creating a culture of safe touch
  • The three types of assists: verbal, energetic, and mechanical touch
  • Safe and trauma-aware assist delivery
  • Inclusive touch practices for diverse bodies and needs
  • Extensive hands-on practice time with structured peer feedback

Who is this for?

Certified yoga teachers looking to deepen their knowledge, understanding, and competency in providing verbal and manual assists — adding depth and connection to your teachings. This course can also be taken with some level of yoga teacher training for professional development purposes; please get in touch if you'd like to discuss.

Counts towards the AWHI 300hr pathway or as 15 CE credits with Yoga Alliance.
